Phototherapy, is also called light therapy, and involves exposing skin in a whole body stand-up unit to narrow band UVB light on a regular basis and under medical supervision. This is a safe, effective and convenient treatment for a variety of skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema.
The light used in phototherapy is ultraviolet B or “UVB” light, and this light is also present in natural sunlight. Whilst there are various UV phototherapies, the light therapy offered by Dr. Garnis-Jones is referred to a “narrow-band UVB”. This is the most commonly used light therapy, and refers to light in a small range of the ultraviolet light spectrum. Narrow-band UVB has been shown to be particularly effective in clearing skin conditions such as psoriasis and producing remissions.

Improve Hair Growth
Hair loss, or alopecia, affects many people of all ages. For some, hair loss is hereditary and occurs as a natural part of aging. In others, hair loss may be a sign of an underlying medical condition.
Dr. Sylvia Garnis-Jones has the experience to distinguish the various patterns of hair loss and identify the cause. She will diagnose different types of hair loss by clinical examination, biopsy, and advanced techniques that provide detailed information about the health of your scalp and hair.
We recognize that hair loss may affect how you feel about your appearance and offer individualized care and emotional support to help you feel comfortable with the way you look.
Dr. Garnis-Jones will prescribe medications to prevent further hair loss and, whenever possible, regrow hair. If the results of diagnostic tests reveal an underlying medical condition as the cause of hair loss, Dr. Garnis-Jones partners with specialists in other fields to ensure that you receive the treatment you need.
